Revenue Cycle Supervisor

Overview

Retina Consultants of Texas (RCTX) is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to join our innovative team with the mission of Fighting Blindness For The World To See. This position will be responsible for providng excellent customer service in a fast-paced clinic environment at our Bryan-College Station Clinic. 

 

Candidates must be able to travel to various clinics to meet the needs of the patients and providers, and support the Clinic hours of Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30am-6:30pm. Schedules are provided weekly and are based on the provider's clinic, patient and surgery schedules. Clinic staff are provided with the opportunity for weekend hours if available.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily staff supervision of the following areas of Revenue Cycle, to include but not limited to: insurance verification, referral/pre-cert, drug copay assistance, surgical coordination, etc.
• Oversees the daily work activities of the department ensuring quality, productivity and efficiency.
• Manages Texas Workforce commission claims.
• Participates in Team Lead Trainings and Personal Developments.
• Implements department Stand Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensures all departments are reporting daily work logs.
• Responds to patient complaints and escalates to appropriate management team if necessary.
• Assists in managing staffing needs including scheduling, time off requests and time keeping.
• Contributes to staffing decisions, hiring, couching, and counseling of employees on work related performance.
• Attends Retina Consultants of Texas events and trainings.
• Works with Team Leads on developing incentive programs for the department.
• Supports Eligibility & Benefits Revenue Manager in training new as well as existing staff on the revenue cycle team.
• Develops and maintains training materials, courses, and programs for revenue cycle team.
• Coordinates and facilitates trainings with employees in both individual and group settings.
• Conducts ongoing coaching sessions with new and existing employees.
• Ensures that all revenue cycle policies are procedures are relevant and current.
• Remains current on system upgrades and enhancements that directly impact the revenue cycle team and update the team accordingly.
• Assists with training the staff on new systems and tools that directly impact the revenue cycle team.
• Helps with coverage within revenue cycle when needed.
• Maintains positive customer service at all times
• May be required to travel
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

• Associate's degree or additional two years of experience (in addition to the minimum experience requirements listed below) in lieu of degree

Experience Requirements:

• Five years of revenue cycle or other applicable experience, of which one year must have been in a supervisory role
• At least two year of experience with Retina Consultants of Texas preferred

 

Physical Abilities:

• Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools 
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Close Visual Acuity-work includes viewing a computer screen

 

Skills/Competencies:

• Must present excellent communication skills and computer skills
• Must have knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle
• Basic Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook), EMR
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to lead and moderate large groups
• Ability to design and implement effective trainings
• Strong organization skills and detail-oriented
