Staff Physician (part-time)

Overview

Knowledge Services is currently seeking part-time Staff Physician for a 4-year contact role supporting Purdue University during the academic year.

 

Work Location: On-site at 601 Stadium Mall Dr, West Lafayette, IN 47907

Work Hours: Every Saturday from 10am-6pm

Parking: Parking is available in a nearby garage approximately one block from the facility. Parking expenses are the responsibility of the resource and may be paid at the visitor rate of $8.00 per day or through the purchase of a temporary annual parking permit from Purdue for $100.00 per year. For Saturday shifts that fall on game days, parking at the designated garage will be provided at no cost to the resource and will be covered by Purdue.

Responsibilities

Staff Physician Responsibilities:

 

CLINICAL CARE:• Practice clinical medicine in the Extended Care Area, Medical Clinic, and other areas of the Health Center as assigned. • Maintain a scope of practice contemporary to the needs of college health, including, but not limited to, assessing severe abdominal pain, chest pain, difficulty breathing, head injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, wound management, suturing, and the care of uncomplicated mental health issues.

MISCELLANEOUS:• Serve as the secondary or "back-up" Collaborative Physician for PUSH Nurse Practitioners and provide clinical leadership in the absence of the Medical Director.• Serve on Health Center Committees as assigned by the Director or Medical Director. • Serve as consultant to Health Center Certified Nurse Practitioners and ancillary staff when needed. Participate in Quality Improvement activities. • Attend Health Center and University in-services and participate in required screening. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Staff Physician Education and Experience:• MD or DO• Completion of an accredited residency.

 

Skills:• Board Certified/Board Eligible in primary care: Internal Medicine, Adolescent Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Practice or Gynecology.

 

Limited Physical Activity:• Lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs.

 

Working conditions with exposure to:• Biologicals and/or chemicals• Use of sharp objects
