This job covers two open overhead transmission line requisitions (10 openings total) at a top-ranked, employee-owned U.S. engineering firm. Submit each candidate to the role that best fits.

Work model (both roles): In the office 5 days/week for the first 90 days, then hybrid 3 days/week. NOT fully remote. Candidate must live within commuting distance of an eligible office. No visa sponsorship.

ROLE 1 - Overhead Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager (5 openings)

• Locations: Tualatin OR, Irvine CA, Houston TX, Overland Park KS, Denver CO, Bloomington MN, Ann Arbor MI, Raleigh NC, Orlando FL (open to candidates near other major U.S. offices of the firm)
• Base salary: up to $270,000 + bonus, ESOP, full benefits
• 8-12+ years of overhead transmission line design at 69kV+; 500kV+ experience strongly preferred
• PLS-CADD is REQUIRED - must be an expert who can train other engineers on it
• ~90% structural focus (foundations, framing, materials); steel, wood, laminate and composite structures; lattice tower a plus
• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (other engineering degrees considered); PE preferred (any state)
• Leads engineering execution on large or multiple projects, owns design reviews and QA/QC, mentors engineers, serves as responsible charge, supports client relationships and pursuits
• Important: the client wants a TECHNICAL LEAD, not a project manager / execution type. Candidates whose strength is project management rather than hands-on PLS-CADD design leadership will be passed on.

ROLE 2 - Senior Structural / Transmission Line Engineer (5 openings)

• Locations: Denver CO, Chicago IL, Boston MA, Bloomington MN, Sacramento CA, Los Angeles CA, Walnut Creek CA
• Base salary by state: CO and IL $148,852-$230,000; MA $162,384-$230,000; MN $142,086-$230,000; CA $148,852-$230,000
• 11+ years of directly related transmission line engineering experience
• PLS-CADD is REQUIRED; PLS-POLE a plus
• Strong overhead transmission line design knowledge from 69kV to 500kV+; supports 345kV-765kV rebuild and greenfield projects, including HVDC
• Structural design of steel transmission structures and foundations using 3D analysis software
• BS in Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; PE preferred; HVDC or 765kV experience a plus; familiarity with NESC and ASCE/IEEE standards
• Works as a technical specialist with minimal supervision, mentors junior and mid-level engineers, maintains design standards, supports business development
