Construction Program Manager - 2nd Shift

Overview

The Second Shift Construction Program Manager will support ongoing backshift construction activities and ensure smooth continuity between first‑ and second‑shift operations. This role focuses less on direct customer interaction and more on internal coordination, execution oversight, and driving schedule performance. The successful candidate will help manage construction support needs, monitor progress toward program objectives, and contribute to planning efforts that enable schedule gains across shifts.

 

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support backshift construction execution to maintain productivity and promote schedule improvement
• Ensure strong communication and continuity between first‑shift and second‑shift leadership teams
• Monitor overall program performance and contribute to planning activities that support construction milestones
• Identify and communicate risks, opportunities, and resource needs across both shifts
• Drive alignment with Electric Boat business processes and ship construction requirements
• Apply problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to resolve issues that arise during second‑shift operations
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure construction, certification, and delivery requirements are met

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• 8+ years of construction management experience
• 4+ years of supervisory experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance 

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 
• Demonstrated planning and program management skills
• Completion of FLG and/or BLG program(s)
