Position Summary:

The Clinical Lead serves as a key figure in the healthcare team, providing leadership and guidance to clinical staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves a combination of administrative, managerial, and clinical responsibilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to clinical staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Mentor and support team members to enhance their clinical skills and professional development.
• Oversee and coordinate clinical activities to ensure adherence to established protocols, standards, and guidelines.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided by clinical staff.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
• Participate in care planning and decision-making processes.
• Develop and implement training programs for clinical staff, keeping them informed about new protocols, technologies, and best practices.
• Conduct regular educational sessions to enhance the skills of the clinical team.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to identify and address areas for improvement in patient care.
• Participate in audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the development and review of clinical policies and procedures.
• Ensure that clinical practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate effective communication within the clinical team and with other departments.
• Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and senior management.
• Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients, ensuring their voice is heard in the care planning process.
• Address patient concerns and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and departmental scheduling requirements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid and active Driver’s License.
• Five years of experience in clinical operations supervision.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
• Proficiency in all aspects of ophthalmic care.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and train professional staff.

Skills and Abilities:

• Training in HIPAA requirements and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• In-depth knowledge of clinical best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be adaptable to frequent transitions between standing and sitting.
• May need to walk up and down stairs.
• Visual acuity for reading, writing, and typing information on screens and paper.
• Adequate hearing for understanding inquiries and conversations.
• Must be able to add support for elderly patients getting in and out of exam chairs.
• Lift, carry and push up to 30lbs.
