We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analytics Platform Architect to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and user-centered data analytics platforms. In this role, you will shape architecture strategies that support enterprise data platforms, data transformation, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and machine learning initiatives across Mass General Brigham.
You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders and technical teams to ensure our data platforms meet current business needs while preparing the organization for future data-driven innovation.
What You’ll Do
• Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for enterprise data analytics platforms.
• Design end-to-end architecture for data ingestion, processing, storage, security, governance, and visualization.
• Build and maintain scalable data platforms, including data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into secure, effective technical solutions.
• Define standards, best practices, and governance frameworks that support data quality, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Support advanced analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize solutions for reliability, cost, and efficiency.
• Document architecture, workflows, data models, and platform decisions to support transparency and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote adoption of platform standards, lessons learned, and best practices.
• Support organizational change by communicating vision, value, and adoption strategies for new initiatives.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and orientation for technical roles as needed.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
- 8–10+ years of experience across network architecture, data warehousing, software development, systems architecture, and database design.
- 5–7 years of experience in data analysis, including data interpretation, modeling, and reporting.
- Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong expertise in information security, network architecture, and data architecture.
- Experience designing, implementing, and securing systems across LAN/WAN, SANs, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of routing, networking protocols, and performance optimization.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, relational databases, dimensional modeling, and SQL query optimization.
- Experience with data integration and ETL tools such as Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Understanding of software architecture and development principles, including microservices, service-oriented architecture, APIs, scripting, and DevOps automation.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, data security practices, and cybersecurity considerations.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Working Conditions
- Hybrid role with onsite work required; candidates should be flexible based on weekly or monthly business needs.
- Monday–Friday schedule during Eastern business hours.
- On remote workdays, employees must work from a stable, secure, and compliant workstation in a quiet environment. Teams video is required and must be accessed using Mass General Brigham-provided equipment.
