SUMMARY
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Supply Chain Demand and Inventory Planning Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. The Supply Chain Planning Intern is responsible for analysis via multiple system interfaces, including, but not limited to Excel, SAP Business One, Tableau, and Blue Ridge. The right candidate would develop the ability to analyze forecast trends with sales opportunities to apply to future item performance. Additional concentration would include working with Planning team to execute purchasing and logistics of components required for on-time replenishment for all product lines at Hexarmor. The Supply Chain Planning Intern would work closely with the Planning team, Category Managers, Product Managers, and Logistics Specialists as well as the Warehouse and Production teams daily.
LOCATION
Onsite at HexArmor Corporate Headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan (640 Leffingwell Ave. NE Grand Rapids, MI)
SCHEDULE
This is a 14-week, full-time internship beginning May 17, 2027. Interns will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during our standard business hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting and presenting excel spreadsheet work for purchasing/financial reviews
- XLOOKUP/ Index Matching
- Pivot tables
- Generating IF statements/formulas
- Reformatting of exports and importing into existing spreadsheets
- Daily operating within SAP Business One for updating purchase order ship dates and creating production orders.
- Support supplier communication on order confirmations, delays, capacity and recovery plans.
- Support monitoring inventory health for excess, aged, and safety stock levels related to Product Life Cycle Status.
- Support Daily and Weekly Backorder Reviews.
- Help in partnering with the category/sales and distribution team to analyze product trends, including new product launches, emerging sales opportunities, pricing changes, and item cannibalization.
- Review shipping methods for inbound inventory using current stock levels and sales forecasts to avoid backorders.
- Assist with analysis for improving department processes and procedures.
- Willingness to assist as needed on any necessary reporting/ Supply Chain related tasks or reporting as they occur.
- Assist with miscellaneous ordering.
- Analyze and provide feedback to appropriate departments on material status for fulfilling customer demand.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain or Logistics. Seeking 2027 and 2028 graduates.
- Proven Excel experience in generating and editing multiple interconnected spreadsheets
- Solid decision making and problem-solving skills
- Critical attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly motivated and positive attitude
- Ability to excel in a fast pace work environment by setting priorities and handle multiple simultaneous requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in international business is preferred
- Prior exposure to an MRP/ERP system is a Plus (SAP)
- Microsoft Teams Experience
