About the Role

The Position

We are seeking an Internal Wholesaler - Sub-Advised Insurance Distribution, to support Wellington's sub-advised insurance business. This individual will work in close partnership with External Wholesalers, Business Development Managers and Relationship Managers to coordinate and advance Wellington's insurance-channel distribution strategy, support ongoing strategic relationship management efforts, and help drive effective engagement across insurance partner organizations.

The position serves as a critical distribution enablement role, responsible for coordinating content, supporting presentations and educational initiatives, facilitating partner engagement activities, and helping execute strategic distribution efforts across the insurance channel. The successful candidate will develop deep knowledge of Wellington's investment capabilities, the insurance marketplace, and the evolving distribution landscape.

This role requires a highly organized, collaborative, and proactive individual who can effectively engage with internal stakeholders and external insurance partners while serving as a central coordinator for distribution activities. Success in the role will come from building strong relationships, keeping initiatives moving forward, and helping create the infrastructure, content, and support necessary for broader distribution success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Internal Wholesaler will:

  • Partner with External Wholesalers, Business Development Managers, and Relationship Managers to support execution of Wellington's insurance-channel distribution strategy.

  • Serve as a central coordinator across distribution initiatives, helping drive alignment, follow-through, and execution across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance company home-office personnel, including sales desk managers, training teams, and other key distribution partners.

  • Coordinate and deliver educational content, presentations, market updates, and training sessions for insurance distribution organizations.

  • Manage and organize marketing materials, presentation content, and other client-facing resources to support distribution efforts.

  • Coordinate follow-up activities resulting from meetings, campaigns, training events, and client engagements.

  • Support positioning of Wellington strategies within insurance-based investment vehicles and platforms.

  • Assist with planning and execution of field activities, desk visits, educational events, and other distribution initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline tracking, activity reporting, and distribution-related business metrics.

  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Investments, and Relationship Management teams to support coordinated commercial execution across the channel.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Relationship Development and Channel Partnership:

  • Ability to build productive relationships across a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, including insurance home-office personnel, carrier-affiliated wholesalers, training teams, distribution leaders, and sales organizations. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build credibility through thoughtful engagement, proactive communication, and consistent follow-through. Capable of supporting long-term relationship development efforts that strengthen Wellington's presence within key insurance partners.

  • Insurance Distribution and Market Knowledge:

  • Developing expertise in the insurance, wealth, and sub-advisory marketplace. Ability to understand and articulate Wellington's investment capabilities and value proposition while tailoring messaging to the unique needs of insurance partners and distribution organizations. Demonstrates intellectual curiosity regarding industry trends, competitive practices, and evolving approaches to insurance distribution.

  • Distribution Enablement and Execution Excellence:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Capable of managing content development, meeting preparation, training programs, follow-up activities, presentation logistics, and stakeholder communications with a high degree of professionalism and accuracy. Demonstrates strong execution skills and the ability to serve as the operational backbone supporting broader distribution efforts.

  • Strategic Collaboration and Initiative Management:

  • Ability to work effectively across Distribution, Marketing, Product Management, Investments, and other business functions. Demonstrates sound judgment, adaptability, and a willingness to take initiative while operating in a highly collaborative environment. Skilled at coordinating diverse stakeholders, bringing together information and resources from multiple groups, and helping advance strategic priorities that support business growth.
