Description
The SFI team collects, curates, and distributes data across all sustainable investments data models, namely ESG , Green Revenue, Climate , EU Taxonomy , Product Involvement etc. This content is used extensively across and beyond LSEG and is a critical asset to a wide range of LSEG products and FTSE Russell Index solutions.
The Specialist Manager will contribute to Policy and operation lead for Sustainability & Financial Intelligence (SFI), providing senior-level leadership on sustainability regulations, policy governance, and methodology oversight across SFI’s expanding portfolio of datasets and offerings.
As global sustainability regulations continue to evolve, this role will be responsible for interpreting regulatory requirements, establishing and maintaining policy frameworks, ensuring methodological consistency, and supporting compliance with regulatory expectations, including ESMA and other relevant supervisory authorities.
The role will act as the primary point of contact for regulatory evidence requests, policy escalations, methodology reviews, and governance matters across ESG, Climate Data, Green Revenue, EU Taxonomy, and emerging sustainability datasets.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining regulatory readiness, strengthening governance controls, ensuring data quality and consistency, and enabling scalable growth while mitigating risks associated with inconsistent policy application and regulatory non-compliance.
The role will require to take care of some of the operational activity pertaining to Sustainable Finance content collection and distribution.
Job description:
Essential day to day responsibilities
- Lead a global team of Content Specialists and provide SME support to the SFI operations team by lending expertise to deliver the required customer experience
- Lead sustainability regulatory policy and methodology oversight for SFI datasets. Provide expert interpretation of regulatory developments and advise leadership on associated impacts and risks.
- Own & implement the content & capability roadmaps working closely with Data strategy, technology, downstream users/customers and operations teams
- Own and maintain the SFI policy framework, ensuring consistency, transparency, and auditability across datasets. Establish governance processes for policy creation, review, approval, implementation, and version control.
- Oversee requirements definition to implementation, support successful delivery of projects, remove the blockers from the team, facilitate agreements with stakeholders
- Work closely with operations and quality teams to ensure effective implementation of new processes, sources, tools or policies, ensure that new business rules are understood and followed consistently
- Own the source strategy/MoWs aligned with customer & business requirements and ensures that policies, business rules and processes in ESG work in balance to achieve business goals
- Leader of innovation and supporting change management. Owns & delivers the automation and transformation roadmap.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders, agree business decisions with content proposition, product management, operations, quality teams, specialist groups and others
- Drive initiatives for process optimization or automation, efficiency improvements, knowledge retention & improvement
- Support operations and quality teams by managing escalations from clients
- Focus on building domain expertise, content professionals and skills of the future for content operations
- Develop and engage diverse talent across teams focusing on performance based culture & driving Refinitiv Values
- Ensures that teams maintain regular and relevant communication with stakeholders /consumers around the work carried out across Corporate Disclosures Content
- Works with team members to define career development plans and ensures resources are available for them to progress according to the plan. Develops a strong bench of talent with clear succession plans.
Required Skills:
- Deep understanding of Sustainability content, Regulations, Standards and reporting frameworks.
- Good understanding of Content Sourcing function and/or multiple asset classes content and processes
- Strong people leadership skills, demonstrated ability to lead a content team in a global matrix environment and take tough decisions.
- Experience of working in sustainable finance domain for 5+ years, with overall experience of 8 years is financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of ESG datasets, climate data methodologies, green revenue classifications, and EU Taxonomy principles.
- Experience with governance, risk management, controls, and regulatory compliance practices.
- Ability to evaluate complex regulatory requirements and develop practical implementation approaches.
- Highly developed collaboration, experience managing multiple stakeholders. Ability to build strong relationships and manage across boundaries.
- Proactive, innovative and with strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Able to present and deliver clear messages to audiences at all levels. Able to get very detailed, while also being able to summarize at an executive level as needed
- Experience articulating business requirements into detailed requirements.
- Highly customer-centric, with a passion for high-quality output and for delighting the customer
- Energetic approach to execution, willingness to make decisions, delegate responsibility and develop a culture of performance and accountability
- Strong project management skills, ability to lead large programs and see them to execution
