Business Analyst
Our client is a well-established retail and franchise group seeking an experienced Business Analyst based in East London to support business operations through data analysis, systems development, reporting and process improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Consultants, stores, buyers, IT, distribution centres and finance to identify discrepancies, improve profitability, resolve system-related issues and provide actionable business insights. The role will also support new store implementations, conversions and ongoing operational development. Responsibilities: Store Business Practices & Profitability • Develop Admin Trackers and Business Snapshots to monitor store performance. • Analyse sales, stock, wastage, shrinkage and profitability trends. • Identify discrepancies, risks and opportunities for improved profitability. • Process and authorise subsidy claims. • Implement initiatives to support store performance and staff engagement. Business Consultant Support & Reporting • Provide accurate reports and insights to support Business Consultants. • Prepare Admin Trackers, Business Snapshots and monthly report packs. • Monitor key focus areas, discrepancies and store performance. • Compile and distribute weekly audit and foot-count reports. • Provide practical recommendations based on data analysis. Buyers Department Support • Assist with product ranging, supplier data and buying information. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between Buyers and stores. • Assist with supplier applications, rebates and subsidy claims. • Provide data to support buying decisions and supplier compliance. IT & Systems Support • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline business systems. • Troubleshoot system anomalies and operational issues. • Support stores and technicians with system-related queries. • Assist with system development, testing and implementation. Distribution Centre Support • Support Distribution Centres with system, credit and administrative queries. • Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective solutions. • Assist with subsidy claims and stock-take checks. • Liaise with relevant departments to resolve operational issues. New Stores & Conversions • Train administrative staff and assist with operational setup. • Set up required systems, databases and administrative processes. • Support the implementation and transition of new stores. Corporate Store Support • Provide reporting and support to improve store profitability. • Assist with system, operational and business-related queries.
• Provide guidance on daily procedures and processes. Finance Support • Follow up on outstanding retailer accounts. • Investigate and resolve debtor discrepancies. • Assist with improving financial and account-related processes. Newsletter & Communication • Gather business updates, achievements and success stories. • Compile and distribute internal newsletters. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in analytics and systems development. • Experience in generating process documentation and business reports. • High proficiency in SQL and database management. • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications. • Extensive experience with data visualisation. • Proven experience managing projects and conducting user testing. • High proficiency in technical writing. • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights. • Own reliable vehicle. • Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods.
