Sr. Principal System Administrators Lead, based in Woburn, MA internally known as Sr. Principal Analyst Infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with many teams to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
 

What You Will Do:

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. 
• Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server to include but not limited to Active Directory, Group Policy, & DNS.
• Advanced Red Hat Enterprise Linux knowledge.
• Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.  Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
• Experience with data RAID, data encryption, and data backup uses and technologies.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.  
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
• Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
• Must be able to develop solutions and documentation a variety of technical problems.
• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
• Travel is required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 5% travel.
• 100% onsite
• Start date will not be set until interim clearance is issues.
   

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of direct experience.
• Must be able to obtain active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.  Start date will not be set until interim clearance is issues.
• Experience with Linux and Widows  
• Must have experience with leading or mentoring others. 

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Strong leadership, teamwork, communication (written and oral), collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Deep experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and its ecosystem, including authentication and identity services (SSSD, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS) and file sharing/integration services (Samba, NFS).
• Expertise with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Red Hat Satellite, along with strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Perl, or C to support provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage systems (e.g., NetApp) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies such as Horizon, Profile Unity, and NVIDIA GPU virtualization (NLS, DLS).
• Proficiency with monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and compliance assessment tools (ACAS, Splunk, Nessus, SCAP, STIG, Nagios, SolarWinds) and working knowledge of security frameworks (CMMC, NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, DoD RMF).

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
