Role: Assistant Category Manager – Procurement (India)
Position Summary

The Assistant Category Manager supports the execution of Strada's global procurement strategy by providing sourcing, supplier management, spend analytics, and contract support across assigned spend categories. The role partners with Category Managers and business stakeholders to identify savings opportunities, improve supplier performance, manage sourcing activities, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and processes. The position is part of Strada's category-led procurement operating model and supports delivery of procurement transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Category & Sourcing Support

  • Support end-to-end sourcing and procurement projects.

  • Assist with RFx events, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract renewals.

  • Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking.

  • Develop spend analyses and opportunity assessments.

Supplier Management

  • Maintain supplier relationships and performance scorecards.

  • Track supplier risks and support mitigation activities.

  • Assist with supplier rationalization and governance initiatives.

  • Support contract compliance and supplier performance reviews.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze spend data to identify cost savings and value creation opportunities.

  • Track procurement savings, sourcing pipeline, and category performance metrics.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and executive updates.

  • Maintain procurement data, dashboards, and sourcing documentation.

Stakeholder Support

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, IT, and business stakeholders.

  • Support category planning and demand management activities.

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and governance requirements.

  • Facilitate timely execution of sourcing and contracting activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or related field.

  • 2-5 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or commercial experience.

  • Experience supporting supplier negotiations and sourcing activities.

  • Strong analytical and financial skills.

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred

  • Procurement certification (CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent).

  • Experience with procurement systems, spend analytics, and contract management platforms.

  • Experience supporting global or multinational organizations.
