Job Description
The Credentials Analyst is a key role within the Office of the Registrar (OTR), responsible for managing and analyzing credentials to ensure accuracy and compliance with institutional standards. This position involves building and issuing digital credentials and awards, handling unique cases related to OTR, and supporting the development and maintenance of policies and practices. This position will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless issuance of credentials, resolve discrepancies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of credentialing systems and practices. This position also involves overseeing the creation and maintenance of OTR data reports and may be called on to maintain additional data systems related to the Office of the Registrar.
This is a full-time, in-office position requiring 5 days per week in Salt Lake City, Utah,
designed to foster the collaboration and connection that fuel our best work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze and verify digital credentials to ensure accuracy and adherence to academic standards and policies.
- Conduct thorough checks of academic programs to ensure alignment with standards and policies.
- Format and deliver accurate data, using prescribed programs/reports or develop them, which will enable leadership to make business decisions and employees to better serve student needs and ensure academic success.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of academic digital credentialing standards and practice.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements related to academic and digital credentials.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to credentialing systems and procedures.
- Work closely with faculty, students, and other departments to address credentialing inquiries and resolve issues.
- Maintain the integrity and privacy of student information to keep WGU in compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
- Implement solutions and support advanced troubleshooting efforts for system-related challenges affecting OTR functions.
- Generate and review reports related to credentials and program compliance, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Monitor and analyze ABI and Appworx reports for embedded credentials to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Maintain data systems and reports to assist internal stakeholders with timely and accurate information.
- Collaborate with manager to determine appropriate actions for atypical situations or development beyond the original scope of responsibilities, while often taking initiative and logically working through these situations independently.
- Conduct data analyses to identify trends and areas for academic standards and policy adherence.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong familiarity with spreadsheet analysis and creation.
- Technological competence with MS Office Suite and Salesforce.
- Ability to maintain high accuracy standards while sustaining speedy resolution of issues.
- Sensitivity to and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Significant organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple competing projects and deadlines.
- Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data management systems, relevant software applications, and Power BI.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex data issues.
Experience
- Four (4) years of experience in data analysis, compliance, or a related role in lieu
- Bachelor’s degree
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
