OVERVIEW

The Department of Health and Exercise Science in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN invites applicants for an adjunct position for Spring 2027 in public health. We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching at the graduate level. We welcome applicants who can provide course development and teach at least one of the following: program planning and evaluation, health communications, aging, maternal and child health, leadership and program administration, and biostatistics.

The University of St. Thomas is a dynamic, mission-driven, urban university with 10,000 students and 450 full-time faculty. Located in a residential neighborhood with easy access to both downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, we are Minnesota’s largest private university with 150+ undergraduate majors/minors and 55 graduate programs. In 2019, the Morrison Family College of Health became the newest addition to the institution’s eight different schools and colleges. The college is comprised of several departments and schools, including the Department of Health and Exercise Science (HES), that was established prior to the college’s inception and houses the undergraduate public health major and the Master of Public Health online program, launching Fall 2026. Learn more about life as a faculty member at St. Thomas.  The interdisciplinary Department of HES engages in innovative teaching, research, service, and community-based initiatives intended to promote both personal and population health. Health equity or the idea that everyone should have the opportunity to be healthy is central to all of our work. As such, HES faculty and staff strive to create inclusive learning spaces that embrace the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and worldviews of our students, faculty, staff, and the communities we serve. We also commit to ensuring equitable access to our programs such that we might train a workforce that reflects the rich diversity of our collective community and is committed to health equity.      The University of St. Thomas embraces belonging and equal opportunity for all. Our convictions of dignity, diversity and personal attention call us to embody and champion an inclusive environment.  The University is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer (EEO).  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, status as a protected veteran, or other protected characteristic.  This commitment to inclusion and equal opportunity is consistent with our mission: Inspired by Catholic intellectual tradition, the University of St. Thomas educates students to be morally responsible leaders who think critically, act wisely, and work skillfully to advance the common good.  A successful candidate will possess a commitment to the ideals of this mission.
