Are you an experienced Fitter / Welder who takes pride in precision, quality, and a job well done? We’re looking for a skilled tradesperson to join our clients amazingly clean and organized facility to play an important role in fabricating and welding structural steel components.

What You’ll Do
As a Fitter / Welder, you’ll be hands-on from start to finish, turning steel components into quality finished products.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Fit and weld structural steel including beams, HSS, channels, angles, plate, flat bar, and other components.
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment using MCAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW processes.
- Read and interpret structural steel fabrication drawings and weld symbols to ensure accurate fit-up and fabrication.
- Set up and safely operate grinders, torches, measuring tools, and other equipment used in the welding trade.
- Inspect and maintain welding equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Use slings, chains, hoists, and other rigging equipment to safely move and position steel components.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure components according to drawings and specifications.
- Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet quality requirements.
- Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, distortion, warping, and other defects.
- Move, count, and inspect materials and completed products.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Work collaboratively with the production team while also being capable of working independently.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who knows their trade and takes pride in their work.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- 5+ years of welding experience, with a minimum of 3 years in structural steel welding. This is a REQUIREMENT
- Experience with MCAW and 0.052" wire.
- The ability to confidently read structural steel fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
- Current CWB welding certifications or recently expired
- Experience operating an overhead crane, or the ability to obtain certification.
- Forklift experience, or the ability to obtain certification.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and keep production moving.
- A safety-first mindset and a dependable, team-oriented attitude.
The Work
This is a hands-on position in a busy structural steel fabrication environment. You’ll spend your day working with steel, equipment, drawings, and a team that takes pride in getting the job done right.
You should be comfortable:
- Standing and working for extended periods.
- Repeatedly lifting and handling materials up to 50 lbs.
- Working in flat, vertical, and overhead welding positions.
- Safely handling and maneuvering structural steel and fabrication materials.
