What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Manager, Commercial Banking Performance Management, you will be a strategic and analytically rigorous individual supporting the planning, forecasting, and performance management reporting for the Transaction Banking business. Acting as a strategic co-pilot for business, you will lead the preparation of business and product financials relating to annual plans, quarterly forecasts, and monthly and quarterly actual reporting. This role demands the ability to synthesize financial outcomes and insights to identify risks and opportunities and develop actionable strategies, all vital to supporting the business in driving superior long-term bank performance.
What will you do?
Lead end-to-end Performance Management for the Transaction Banking Fee Stream portfolio, including month-end and quarter-end reporting, forecasting, annual planning, and 5-year strategic outlooks
Provide timely and insightful analysis and reporting of financials to Transaction Banking executives to support business decision-making
Produce monthly and quarterly operating results for executive management
Serve as the first point of contact for Transaction Banking on Finance-related inquiries and issues
Develop and support strategic business case analysis and modeling
Partner with Financial Control and Product Control to uphold financial integrity and support reconciliation of reporting variances
Build and maintain financial planning models to support volume and revenue modeling, including net interest income and net interest margin analysis
Monitor and explain key business drivers including volumes, spreads, and fees
Translate financial insights into clear narratives and recommendations for executive-level reporting
Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis for various product groups
Serve as a key member of the Canadian Banking Financial Advisory team
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Commercial Banking, or Credit Risk
Strong executive presence and ability to make the complex simple
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within tight timelines, prioritize, and work autonomously
Proven ability to build trust with business partners and finance peers, working cross-functionally to get things done
Demonstrated experience preparing financial content for senior management
Exceptional financial modeling, data analysis, and communication skills
High level of integrity, business acumen, and sound judgment
Execute with a high sense of urgency
Strong attention to detail
Nice to Have
Designation including CPA, CFA, and/or MBA
Experience working in a matrix model with a high degree of confidence and collaboration with partners
Previous track record working in a financial institution
Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Thinkcell, EPM, or PeopleSoft
