What impact you’ll make

Manage assigned electrical commodities for the Gas Power Heavy Duty New Units business segment. Support the development of supplier panels that can meet or exceed GEV’s expectations. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the optimal contractual conditions while meeting project expectations.

What you’ll do

  • Manage commercial aspects of purchase orders with suppliers for assigned commodities, including but not limited to:
    • Contribute to making supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels.
    • Support to determine suppliers to solicit quotes from for specific project demands.
    • Lead negotiations and involve global commodity leader for key strategic material and allocate demands to specific suppliers.
    • Ensure selected supplier is capable of meeting all GEV requirements; gain internal buy-in for any exceptions.
    • Manage purchase order changes as necessary.
    • Manage commercial claims with suppliers regarding delivery and quality issues.
  • Develop content expertise for assigned commodities with support of cross functional stakeholders.
  • Identify and support process improvement activities.
  • Communicate and resolve complex issues, building consensus and commitment from key stakeholders. Utilize persuasion skills to influence others.
  • Grow to be able to use sound judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks and issues.
  • Uses technical experience, data analytics, and cross-functional inputs to support recommendations.

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • This role would welcome prior experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management.
  • Fluent English language skills

Other information:

The position involves approximately 10% travel.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $94.600 and $157.700 The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.  

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
