Description
Assistant Project Manager — Water/Wastewater & Industrial Plant Construction — Atlanta, GA
Our client, a highly respected self-perform general contractor in the water, wastewater and industrial plant market, is adding Assistant Project Managers to its Atlanta operation. They are not hiring for a project — they are hiring for careers, building the management bench that lets them take on more work.
What You'll Do
- Support the Project Manager in running treatment plant and industrial construction projects: budgets, schedules, submittals, RFIs, subcontractor coordination and owner communication
- Own the document and cost-control backbone of the job — the detail work that keeps a plant project on schedule and on budget
- Work onsite with the project team; this contractor believes the whole management staff belongs on the project
- Step up into full Project Manager responsibility as you prove out
What They're Looking For
- Experience on water/wastewater treatment plant or industrial plant construction — as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Office Engineer, Assistant Project Manager or in a similar seat
- Comfortable with the process side of plant work: piping systems, mechanical equipment, structural concrete and site utilities
- A record of delivered project work with a self-perform contractor
- Based in (or willing to relocate to) the Atlanta area — relocation is fully supported
Compensation & Benefits
- $80,000 – $130,000 base salary depending on experience, plus discretionary bonus eligibility
- Four weeks of PTO to start: two weeks vacation, one week sick leave (unused sick time accrues), and one week flexible — with a path to a fifth week after five years
- Projects are staffed from regional offices, each serving roughly a three-hour radius — the company does not mandate moves, and when travel is required, arrangements are flexible
Career Path
Assistant Project Manager → Project Manager → Project Director → Regional Manager → Division Manager. Multiple operating groups mean several routes up for strong performers.
