Thrive General Manager
The Pattie Group, Inc. is searching for a motivated, dependable, and hardworking team player to join our company as a Department Manager. This position is for someone who is a go-getter and wants to have a long-term career path with a 50-year-old company. This is an entry-level position and no experience is necessary. We will teach you all you need to know.
Purpose:   A Pesticide Manager oversees the safe and effective use, storage, and disposal of pesticides within an organization or on a property. Their responsibilities include ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, training staff on proper pesticide application, and maintaining accurate records of pesticide usage. They also evaluate pest control strategies, manage risks related to chemical exposure, and implement integrated pest management practices to minimize environmental impact.

Pay: $23-$27 an Hour
Type of work to include: 
  • Complete coordination and training of lawn and plant health care departments activities, equipment and personnel.
  • Assure safety standards are met and practiced
  • Oversee and perform the safe application of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, and fertilizers to turf, trees, and shrubs.
  • Develop and grow lawn and plant health care departments
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling of departments activities and projects with operations and account managers.
  • Ordering of supplies for lawn and plant health care department
  • Maintain inventory system for lawn and plant health care departments.
  • Assure and oversee maintenance and inventory of tools, trucks and equipment.
  • Improve efficiencies and techniques in the lawn and plant health care departments.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local environmental health and safety laws regarding chemical use and storage. 
  • Assure accurate times and paperwork from self and crews daily.
  • Assist Garden & Property Managers in estimating of lawn and plant health care
  • Enforce company policies and quality standards
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, firing, performance reviews of department employees
  • Communicate daily with operations and account managers.
  • Keep client aware of job time-line and progress
  • Check properties for quality control and improve results.
  • Maintain 45-55 hours per week with a 50-60% billable average year-round.
  • Assist team with lawn and plant health care applications to ensure work is being completed timely. 
  • Diagnose lawn and plant diseases, map treatment routes, and apply integrated pest management (IPM) techniques. 
  •  Valid state commercial pesticide applicator license or agricultural/structural certification.
  • Consult with the Design/Build division on preserving trees and other plant material during installations.
  • Sell lawn and plant health care to new lawn and plant health care leads as they come in.
  • Upsell existing clients on lawn and plant health care.

To be considered for this position, the candidate must:
  • Be willing and able to work 8-10 hours per day, 5-6 days per week.
  • Pass a pre-employment background and driving record check.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States.
