Fixed Income Internship (hybrid) 

Time Frame: June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027 
Work Location: In-Person- TruStage office – 5910 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 
 
Eligibility Requirements: 

• Students pursuing an undergraduate degree with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or later. 

• Candidates who now or in the future require company sponsorship for an immigration-related employment benefit are not eligible to apply. 

 

Emerging Professional Program (EPP)

An internship path focused on equipping graduating students with the tools/skills needed to transition into a potential career at TruStage. Interns receive comprehensive support and guidance to enhance their company knowledge, integrate into the company culture, and developing key connections. This pathway enables young professionals to be considered for potential opportunities at TruStage.

Job Purpose:  
This position is designed to provide hands-on experience to acquire knowledge of investing in fixed income instruments.  The intern will get exposure to both the corporate credit and structured credit investment areas of the fixed income world with TruStage Investment Management, which manages over $30 billion of assets.   

Job Responsibilities:  
 

• Work with the Head of Credit Research and rotating Senior Analysts on various projects including corporate earnings reviews, private placement new issues, sector reviews, and other various projects. 

• Present certain portions of a private placement new issue at an investment committee meeting. 

• Gather and organize data for reports/projects 

• Prepare written earnings reports/projects 

• Attend and participate in meetings 

• Spend the last two weeks preparing a presentation for an investment recommendation or sector review on a topical area to a small group of the Fixed Income team.

Job Requirements: 

 

• Working towards a relevant degree or equivalent work experience 

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills 

• Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills 

• Excellent communications skills 

• Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn 

Preferred Experience:  

• Pursuing a degree with a major in Finance, Accounting or Economics. 

• Has obtained or is willing to obtain CFA 

• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office is required.  Advanced Excel Skills, including building dynamic models and reports. 

• Working with data tools and integrating with financial data add-ins like Bloomberg is preferred.   

• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI as well as experience with programming languages such as python, SQL, R, Java, or similar is preferred.  

• Capable of independently learning analytical software and data tools. 

• Any experience with AI tools like Co-Pilot is preferred.

Base Salary Range:

$18.00 - $28.00
