CNC Machinist

 

Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a CNC Machinist role in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:

· Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision components according to specifications.

· Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and machining specifications.

· Perform machine setups, including proper selection and installation of tooling, fixtures, and workholding.

· Make necessary machine and tool offset adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.

· Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify finished parts.

· Monitor machining operations to identify tool wear, equipment issues, or out-of-tolerance conditions.

· Perform in-process inspections and ensure finished components meet required specifications and quality standards.

· Troubleshoot machining and production issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.

· Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.

· Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

· Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve machining processes.

 

Qualifications:

· 3+ years of CNC machining experience required.

· Previous experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.

· Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

· Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.

· Ability to make machine offsets and adjustments to maintain dimensional tolerances.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

· Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality parts.

· Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or machining education is a plus.
