What You’ll Do
Training Delivery
- Deliver classroom and hands-on floor training sessions for associates across all operational areas, including orderfill, replenishment, ICQC, shipping, ECOM, and Bolts/Photo.
- Facilitate and support Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions to build a sustainable internal training capability.
- Reinforce SOPs already covered in classroom and floor training; redirect associates to SMEs for questions that are net-new or related to underlying system behavior.
- Use approved training materials, scope-of-training documentation, and job aids consistently across all sessions.
- Confirm associate readiness on required hardware, including TC52 RF devices, RF guns, and mobile/hip printers.
Go-Live and Floor Support
- Floor coaching stations and provide just-in-time refreshers during and after go-live.
- Shadow new or lower-confidence associates during their first live transactions in Körber.
- Serve as Tier 1 support on the escalation path, resolving associate confusion and navigation issues on the spot; escalate system-behavior or process issues to the assigned SME.
- Track associates who need a follow-up touch later in the shift or on subsequent days.
- Participate in Start of Shift meetings, daily huddles, and end-of-day wrap sessions to share floor observations and training gaps.
Readiness, Feedback, and Continuous Improvement
- Support administration of ADKAR-based readiness surveys (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement) at the appropriate checkpoints for each training group.
- Log issues encountered during training and floor coaching consistently, even when resolved quickly, to support the broader Issue Log and readiness reporting.
- Provide input on training content and pacing based on direct floor observation, particularly for tasks with high muscle-memory demands (e.g., RF scanning sequences).
- Maintain and help update training setup checklists for classroom and floor readiness ahead of each session.
- Will support WMS team with any tasks associated with Go Live Readiness
Experience & Skills You’ll Bring
Required
- Strong working knowledge of distribution center operations; prior experience in a DC/warehouse environment strongly preferred.
- Comfortable using or quickly learning RF/TC52 devices, mobile printers, and warehouse management system interfaces.
- Clear, patient communication style; able to coach associates of varying experience levels and confidence.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the distribution center floor for extended periods, including during peak and go-live periods.
- Strong organizational skills, including consistent documentation and follow-through on open items.
- Flexibility to work across all shifts, weekends, and adjust availability around go-live and peak operational windows.
Preferred
- Prior experience as a trainer, coach, or SME during a system implementation or similar change initiative.
- Familiarity with Körber WMS or a comparable WMS platform (e.g., Manhattan, PKMS).
- Exposure to change management concepts (e.g., ADKAR) or structured training design.
Success Measures
- Associates demonstrate the ability to complete assigned tasks in Körber independently within the expected timeframe after training.
- Low rate of repeat Tier 1 escalations for the same training topic within a zone.
- Positive trend in Knowledge and Ability scores on post-training and post-go-live ADKAR surveys.
- Minimal disruption to throughput and productivity during the associate's transition period.
Working Conditions
This role is based on-site at the SDC distribution center for the duration of the training rollout and go-live hyper care period, with time split between the training room/floor training area and live operational zones. Trainers should expect a fast-paced environment during go-live week, including participation in early/late shift kickoff meetings and daily huddles.
