Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

As part of Corporate Vendor Management (CVM), you’ll play a key role in helping Schwab strategically engage with third party providers while ensuring operational excellence, compliance and effective risk management across the enterprise.

CVM is responsible for establishing and supporting Schwab's firm-wide Vendor Management Program, enabling business partners to achieve their objectives while meeting regulatory requirements and delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. Our team serves as a strategic procurement partner, helping business partners navigate procurement processes, maintain compliance with governance requirements, and foster effective vendor relationships through purchase order management and invoice issue resolution.

As a Procurement Buyer, you will serve as a trusted advisor to business partners throughout the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle. You will help drive purchasing accuracy, process compliance, operational improvements, and purchase order support across a diverse portfolio of goods and services.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will combine procurement expertise, operational excellence, and strong partnership skills to support purchasing activities across a diverse portfolio of goods and services. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, sourcing professionals, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure procurement processes are executed efficiently and in accordance with Schwab policies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and validate contractual documentation supporting purchase requisitions and other procurement activities.
  • Ensure purchase requisitions are accurate, complete, and aligned with Schwab policies, controls, and governance requirements.
  • Guide business partners on procurement processes, purchasing best practices, systems, and policy requirements.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and purchasing-related issues.
  • Partner with Vendor Sourcing Managers to ensure purchasing activities align with approved agreements and contractual terms.
  • Investigate and resolve complex purchasing concerns involving pricing, terms, delivery, and supplier performance, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Provide procurement expertise across categories that may include Technology, Marketing, Professional Services, and Corporate Real Estate.
  • Communicate directly with vendors to obtain quotes, clarify pricing, resolve purchase order and invoice inquiries, and facilitate purchasing transactions.
  • Perform required due diligence based on commodity, engagement type, risk considerations, and applicable policy requirements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, improve operational efficiency, and deliver greater business value.
  • Maintain and enhance process documentation, job aids, and training materials to support operational consistency.
  • Comply with applicable corporate policies, including Expense Authorization, Risk Management, Corporate Security, Information Security, and Business Continuity.
  • Contribute to team initiatives, knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional development.

**This is an individual contributor role.**

Please note: this position is Monday - Friday during standard business hours with a hybrid work model (4 days in office, 1 day working from home). It is only available in Lone Tree, CO. Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate on their own to the listed locations.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
