The Grounds Maintenance Operator is an hourly/non-exempt position that performs a variety of duties involved in the daily operations of the Public Works Department. This position will be expected to operate a variety of equipment in the areas of maintenance, repair, construction, and replacement of Town owned sidewalks, recreation paths, parks, buildings, grounds, playgrounds, sport facilities, cemetery system, and streets.
There are three levels to the Streets Operator position, Level One, Two and Three. If offered a position with the Town of Frisco, the offer will be made based on the interview and relevant experience. Please review below.

Essential Functions | - Operates Town equipment as directed by supervisor. This may include, but is not limited to motor grader, dump truck, wheel loader, skid steer loader, street sweeper, municipal tractor, backhoe, pick-up truck, utility vehicle and other related heavy equipment.
- Operate equipment and power tools related to landscape maintenance. Operates hand and power tools related to daily maintenance, repair, and construction.
- Will handle basic daily maintenance of equipment.
- During the winter, this position is responsible for snow removal and de-icing on all Town owned streets, sidewalks, recreation paths, parking lots, and performs ice rink maintenance.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment.
- Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
- Provides preventative equipment maintenance inspections such as pre/post trips, checking fluids, etc. Reports any problems in a timely manner to the Fleet Supervisor and Vehicle Technicians.
- May be required to supervise seasonal employees.
- Performs multiple duties as it pertains to Town sponsored special events such as set-up, tear down, trash & street sweeping.

- Purchases irrigation equipment and supplies.
- Audit irrigation systems and make recommendations for maximum water savings.
- In absence of Manager or Lead Operator, assists and mentors Grounds staff on daily projects, prioritizes work, construction projects, and manages special projects.
