German Speaking Network & IT Administrator (m/f/d)
Location: Salem area / Lake Constance, Germany (Hybrid – up to 1 day remote/week)
We are an independent, owner-managed high-tech software company based in the Lake Constance region. We develop highly flexible component-based software technologies for visualizing, distributing, and processing complex geographical data. Our systems are deployed worldwide by leading companies and public sector clients in aerial reconnaissance, security monitoring, and environmental management.
We are seeking an experienced German Speaking Network & IT Administrator (m/f/d) to take full ownership of our network, Linux server infrastructure, and IT security environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & Operations: Oversee the smooth operation, monitoring, and strategic development of company-wide IT infrastructure (networks, servers, systems).
- Network & Security: Administer and secure LAN/WAN, VPN interfaces, and firewalls to guarantee high availability and system protection.
- Linux Server Administration: Maintain and manage Linux server landscapes, user accounts, permissions, and security clearances.
- System Rollouts & Backups: Execute system installations, updates, patch management, and backup routines, including for in-house software products.
- Internal Support & Onboarding: Act as the main contact for internal user support, perform structured troubleshooting, and set up hardware/software accesses for new employees.
- Project Support: Prepare and pre-configure hardware for customer projects, including occasional on-site client installations or maintenance visits (approx. 1–2 times per year).
Candidate Profile
- Experience & Education: Completed IT apprenticeship, degree, or equivalent experience with at least 3–5 years of background in network and Linux server administration.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Linux (mandatory), LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewalls, paired with an IT-security mindset (encryption, certificates, compliance).
- Skills & Mindset: Analytical approach to troubleshooting, structured working style, high ownership, and a collaborative attitude.
- Language & Clearance: Native/C2-level German and minimum B2 English. Due to security-sensitive projects, EU/NATO citizenship and eligibility for security clearance are required.
- Location: Resident within ~45–60 minutes of Salem or willing to relocate (on-site position with max. 1 home office day per week).
Benefits
- Compensation: Base salary range of €50,000 – €70,000 (depending on experience) plus 50% holiday pay and €1,000 Christmas bonus.
- Time Off & Flexibility: 30 days of paid vacation, flexible working hours, and a hybrid model.
- Impact & Ownership: High autonomy, short decision-making paths, and a key role in an expanding high-tech field.
- Perks: Company bike leasing (JobRad) and employer-funded pension scheme (bAV).
- Culture: A supportive team culture with open communication, long-term focus, and constructive feedback loops.
