This position is based in the Detroit, MI area, supporting General Motors operations within a high-volume warehouse focused on pick and pack, sequencing, inventory management, and material flow. We are seeking a motivated Floor Supervisor to provide daily leadership to warehouse employees while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer expectations are consistently met.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations and provide direction to hourly employees
- Lead and support pick and pack, sequencing, shipping, receiving, and inventory activities
- Ensure customer requirements and production schedules are achieved safely and efficiently
- Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, and overall employee performance
- Train, coach, and develop team members while reinforcing operational expectations
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with company and customer standards
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and labor planning to support business demands
- Monitor inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities
- Identify operational issues, develop corrective actions, and escalate concerns when necessary
- Maintain a strong floor presence and support employees throughout the shift
- Communicate effectively with management, customers, and support departments
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, quality, and cost reduction
- Complete daily reports and operational documentation as required
What We're Looking For:
- 2+ years of leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain operations
- Previous experience leading hourly employees in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, material flow, inventory control, and productivity metrics
- Experience in automotive or high-volume operations preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coach employees, drive accountability, and build effective teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems preferred
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Valid driver's license required
