Team: Data Trust Execution

Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Experience: 15-20 years

About the Role

This role leads the organisation’s data governance capability as LSEG Data & Analytics strengthens internal ownership and transitions from external support to a mature, proactive governance model. As Senior Manager for Data Governance, you ensure the organisation remains consistently audit‑ready and regulatory‑confident by driving disciplined control attestation, clear governance execution, and resilient data lineage across complex hybrid environments.

You will work closely with Data Owners, Stewards, Technology, Controls, and Audit teams to embed trust, transparency, and accountability into how data is managed. The role is central to building a strong, business‑aligned governance culture—one that advances data management maturity while enabling the organisation to operate with clarity, confidence, and control.

This position goes beyond compliance. It’s about strengthening organisational trust through competence, consistency, and modernisation—leveraging automation, technology, and AI/LLM‑driven enhancements to elevate the way governance is delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 8–10 Data Governance Officers, setting clear expectations and driving a proactive governance culture.
  • Oversee the transition of governance activities from KPMG to an in‑house model, ensuring continuity and stability.
  • Serve as the primary contact for controls, audits, and risk, clearly representing governance status and remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with Solidatus and Operations teams to embed governance requirements into data lineage and operational workflows.
  • Develop and execute an annual governance roadmap aligned to the organisation’s data management and analytics maturity goals.
  • Identify governance gaps and risks, driving remediation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver concise, actionable governance updates to senior stakeholders to support informed decision‑making.

Required Skills & Experience

  •   10–15 years’ experience in data analysis, governance, risk, compliance, and data management within regulated financial services.
  •   Proven track record leading large, multi‑disciplinary teams (20+ members) and record of multi Domain understanding in Financial services
  • Regulatory experience with relevant certifications in Governance.
  •   Demonstrated experience working with regulatory frameworks, audits, and control functions, with the confidence to operate under regulatory scrutiny.
  •   Minimum 6 years of people‑management experience, including performance management and capability development in governance teams.
  •   Strong hands‑on background with the ability to review, validate, and challenge detailed governance work.
  •   Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end governance operations, including planning, execution, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  •   Excellent stakeholder management skills with the presence to influence and engage senior leaders and control partners.
  •   High ownership, urgency, and self‑motivation, with the ability to work independently and drive outcomes.
  •   Exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex governance topics into clear, business‑relevant insights.
  •   Comfortable working in an evolving environment and contributing to long‑term data management maturity, beyond short‑term compliance needs.
  •   Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging teams, internal stakeholders, and customers.
  •   An authentic leader who inspires trust through energy, empathy, and credibility.
