Automation Technician - Touring

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION WITH THE TOURING DIVISION

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and efficient setup of automation gear and winches on-site.
• Collaborate with the automation department staff during shop preparations to set

up automation equipment according to production requirements.

• Label and pack equipment to ensure reliable setup.
• Anticipate and prepare spare and additional equipment needs for road events,

mitigating the risk of last-minute shipping delays.

• Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks on automation gear including winches,

drives, power cables, and data cables as needed during tour, ensuring

uninterrupted show performances.

• Competently assemble, construct, maintain, and operate all automation

equipment.

• Conduct regular inspections of all winches, lifts, rotates, turntable, and other

automation equipment to maintain safe operational addressing any issues

promptly.

• Maintain a professional demeanor while performing automation technician

duties.

• Attend to the maintenance and inspection of automation systems, equipment,

and safety gear on a regular schedule to ensure thorough scrutiny and

compliance.

• Participate in emergency procedure training and practices to handle unforeseen

situations effectively.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of mechanics and electronics, with the ability to troubleshoot

and repair automation gear and winches.

• Familiarity with entertainment industry standards and practices, particularly

related to automation systems and equipment.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to the installation,

maintenance, and operation of automated show elements.

• Readiness to travel with tour engagements and adapt to extended work hours.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of addressing issues promptly and

effectively to ensure uninterrupted show performances.

• Physical fitness and stamina to meet the demands of setting up and operating

automation equipment and servo winches in various venues and environments.

• Willingness to undergo ongoing training and development to enhance skills and

proficiency in automation systems and equipment.
