Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 8a Clinical Cancer Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team in North Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist pharmacist to provide advanced clinical pharmacy support within cancer services while contributing to a range of pharmacy technical service activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to oncology patients, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise treatments, improve patient outcomes, and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to oncology and cancer patients.
- Support the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of cancer medicines.
- Undertake clinical medication reviews and provide pharmaceutical advice to healthcare professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and patient care planning.
- Support prescribing decisions and medicines optimisation initiatives within cancer services.
- Contribute to the monitoring and management of high-risk medicines.
- Assist with pharmacy technical service activities as required.
- Support clinical governance, audit, and service improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Have significant NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
- Demonstrate experience working at Band 8a level or equivalent.
- Possess specialist clinical knowledge within Oncology or Cancer Services.
- Have experience providing advanced clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.
- Be confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Possess excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Have experience contributing to service development, audit, and medicines governance activities.
