Job Summary
Join a Collaborative Orthopedics Team in West Hatfield/AmherstOur Team Cooley Dickinson Medical Group Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is where experienced, highly trained professionals advance the health of patients through specialized, expert treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal (bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons) problems. The practice’s holistic approach to orthopedics involves coordination of personalized services within the practice and with other providers, to ensure a comprehensive range of care to people of all ages. We have combined expertise in all major orthopedic specialties, including sports medicine, orthopedic trauma, hand & upper extremities, joint replacement and spine care. Schedule & Location
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Monday–Friday schedule, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Primary location: 4 West Street, West Hatfield, MA 01088
• Supporting Orthopedics and Sports Medicine care in the West Hatfield/Amherst area
What You’ll Do
• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and help ensure each visit runs smoothly.
• Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms to support efficient patient care.
• Perform clinical tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, including EKGs and point-of-care testing as appropriate.
• Assist providers with office procedures and support patient flow throughout the day.
• Help coordinate pre-visit preparation, including chart organization, labs, testing, and patient-specific needs.
• Communicate with patients regarding lab results, imaging results, prescription instructions, and follow-up steps according to practice protocols.
• Support electronic prescriptions, medical authorizations, and medication reconciliation as directed by providers.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information.
Qualifications
We look for candidates who bring strong clinical support skills, a positive attitude, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for patient care. The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with providers, communicating with patients, and contributing to a team-centered environment.
- Required: High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
- Ability to work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and administrative team members
- Strong communication skills and commitment to delivering an excellent patient experience
