Description
Responsibilities:
- The Sector team is the primary contact point towards clients. It is responsible for idea generation, origination and relationship management, providing our clients with tailored solutions that suit their needs through the marketing of our complete product portfolio. The responsibilities of the team include:
- Formulating client strategies and developing and maintaining close relationships with clients as the primary contact;
- Identifying, originating, and structuring solutions to clients across the WB product suite in close co-operation with product specialists and the ING network;
- Leading (virtual) client teams for new deals with various deal team members from ING internally as well as with external stakeholders;
- Achieving sector income and return targets within ING’s risk appetite while being compliant with all relevant financial and non-financial guidelines;
- Continuously building knowledge on the sector and its drivers, competitors, products, and macroeconomic trends/ issues, and contributing to ING’s strategic initiatives.
- When it comes to new lending transactions, the Sector team works closely with Transaction Management on the following tasks whereby the work is led by the Deal Principal (DP):
- Term Sheet negotiations with the client and forming a club or syndicate;
- Greenlight memo, presentation and minutes;
- Approval discussions with Risk Management (T&A);
- Legal documentation discussions with the client and lawyers.
- Specific responsibilities of an Analyst include:
- Helping build client relations and actively supporting deal generation by contributing to the origination efforts of the team;
- Preparing sector and peer group analyses, presentations and pitch books;
- Being a member of multiple deal teams involved in originating and structuring transactions across the WB product suite, whilst assisting in the execution of transactions;
- Assisting in preparation of Greenlight Memos;
- Analysis of different transaction structures; Preparing business comparables and analysis of debt structures, performance metrics and debt pricing;
- Collaborating with other departments within ING, including Corporate Finance, LDG, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets, Sustainable Finance, Transaction Services, ESR, Compliance and Risk Management;
- Help achieve sector income, fee, cross-buy, ESG and return targets, and achieving other financial / non-financial KPIs, participating in relevant projects;
- For lending transactions: assisting in coordinating the credit approval process with Transaction Management, who are primarily responsible for the preparation and processing of credit applications;
- Supporting the team with relevant reporting tasks and other ad hoc initiatives; incl. KYC processes
- Identifying additional requirements, recommending improvements / process changes;
- Staying current on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.).
Qualifications and Competencies
Qualifications / Education:
Master's degree in finance/ economics/ accounting/ management/ engineering (or any other relevant sector specific university degree); CFA would be a plus
Experience / Knowledge:
- 0-2years of relevant WB experience or Energy-related field experience
Competencies:

- Strong interest in the sector / prior relevant sector knowledge would be a plus;
