About the opportunity
The Wellbeing Navigator is a frontline role within Wellways’ Carer Gateway services, supporting carers to identify their needs, strengthen their wellbeing and access tailored services. Through in-depth wellbeing conversations, collaborative planning and tools such as the Carer Star, the role helps carers reflect on their experiences, establish meaningful goals and navigate aged care, disability, health, mental health and community support systems.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Wellbeing Navigator coordinates referrals, responds to carers experiencing heightened pressure or short-term emergencies, and facilitates timely access to emergency respite and other immediate supports. The role contributes to a welcoming, trauma-informed and inclusive service environment while upholding Wellways’ values and practice principles.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience working in community services, allied health, administration, or carer and family peer roles.
- Experience engaging with individuals or families in a support, customer service or community-based setting, including responding to people who may be experiencing stress or distress.
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge in working with community services Industry
- International Police check (if required)
- Right to work within Australia
- Current valid Driver’s Licence and the ability to undertake some travel
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (free online course)
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children's Check (Employee/Paid)
