Role summary:The (USA) Senior Distinguished I, Architect leads the design and implementation of comprehensive architecture strategies across multiple products and platforms within the domain. This role involves defining architecture blueprints, ensuring system integration, scalability, and security, and guiding technical priorities aligned with business objectives. The position requires expertise in emerging technologies, coding standards, deployment strategies, and security frameworks. The architect collaborates with stakeholders to influence technical decisions, drive innovation, and deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions that support Walmart’s strategic goals and operational excellence.

The Marketplace Engineering team at Walmart Global Tech drives global commerce by creating advanced tools for storefront management, pricing, and inventory control. Supporting thousands of sellers worldwide, the team develops reliable, intelligent systems integrating real-time data and partner platforms to ensure seamless order experiences. Focused on scalable, cloud-native architectures, the team collaborates across functions to align technology with business goals. What you'll do:
- Design and validate architecture blueprints for multiple products and platforms within the domain, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Define technology strategies, selecting appropriate frameworks, platforms, and tools to meet business and technical requirements.
- Lead security architecture development, establishing assessment frameworks and strategic roadmaps for software security.
- Oversee coding standards, guide teams on best practices, and ensure code quality, security, and maintainability.
- Drive deployment strategies across cloud and on-premise environments, supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Analyze requirements, conduct risk and cost assessments, and develop reusable frameworks to support long-term solutions.
- Build consensus among stakeholders by presenting technical strategies aligned with business objectives.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive expertise in enterprise and software architecture, including architectural principles, styles, and standards.
- Proven ability to design and validate technology strategies and architecture blueprints across multiple products and platforms.
- Strong proficiency in coding standards, frameworks, and tools such as JavaScript, Python, and cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure.
- Experience leading security architecture, including secure software development, vulnerability assessment, and compliance with industry standards.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, consensus building, and communicating complex technical concepts effectively.
- Demonstrated capability in continuous integration, automation, and deployment strategies within cloud and on-premise environments.
- Deep knowledge of systems analysis, solution architecture, and emerging technologies to drive scalable, high-performance solutions.
