Description
Under close supervision to perform a wide variety of general clerical duties in an assigned department. Position will have public contact both in person and by telephone and will be responsible for general clerical duties which include filing, data entry, prepare and process documents, maintain, assemble files and/or distribute a variety of documents such as reports, correspondence, permits, applications, specifications and records and performs related duties as required.
POSITION SCHEDULE
This is a part-time position with tentative work schedules of 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Work schedules are determined by the department supervisor and/or director based on the operational needs of the department. While a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed, employee availability will be taken into consideration when developing work schedules.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Light, sedentary work - lifting, carrying or pulling up to approximately 25 pounds; noise level in the working environment is quiet to moderately noisy.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
EDUCATION
- Equivalent to the completion of 12 grade.
- One year of progressively responsible clerical experience or. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) desired.

- Respond to requests for information from the general public or other internal departments and employees.
- Answer routine questions.
- Direct visitors to appropriate locations.
- Screen incoming calls, take and transmit messages.

- May accept payment of fees/services.
- May maintain and process cash records.
- May perform other duties of a similar nature or level as required.
