Aircraft maintenance administration specialist (Logs and Records Custodian) is responsible for the management and sustainment of all aircraft logbooks, aeronautical equipment service records (AESR), aircraft maintenance publications / files, prepare reports, logs records, directives and correspondence in an aircraft maintenance and operations activity.  Required to be familiar with and able to use NASA Aircraft Maintenance Information System (NAMIS), Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA), and its associated remote database subsystems. Required to have a good attitude and work well with others. Our main purpose here is customer service. This requires us to assist in any way so NASA can complete their mission. Analyze control charts and program maintenance and man-hour statistical information to aid the maintenance managers and logisticians in the performance of their assigned tasks.  Perform data processing, data entry and the majority of the following: 

  • Aircraft Engine Data Tracking via OOMA for Engine Management (FAME)  
  • CBA OOMA System Administrator Monitoring OOMA system, perform daily screening of NAVFLIRS, process Aircraft data, perform daily backups, troubleshoot software faults, manage network, and provide formal system instruction to center maintenance personnel.
  • Fleet Automated Maintenance Environment (FAME) software suite administrator. Ensures continuous data connectivity and secure file transfer, Audits Naval Flight Record System (NAVFLIR) data, validates structural logbooks, and monitors baseline software updates, and performs routine server upkeep.
  • Maintain PEMA laptops via issued Naval F/A-18 Automated Maintenance Environment (FAME) system updates
  • Processing parts to the Air Force and ensuring the Daily Flight Schedules/Projects are accomplished in a timely manner using form 5048 Work Request.  
  • Engine Data Tracking and Aircraft Fatigue Life Maintenance Systems in addition to establishing the IETMS (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals) 
  • Manage and maintain all aircraft records and ensure addition of new aircraft are entered into NAMIS and initial records uploading. 
  • Provide Aircraft Maintenance Information System (NAMIS) training as needed in multiple locations.  
  • Monitor, Review, and Update F-15 engine times with F-15 CEMS report downloads. 
  • Provide assistances with QA inspectors with the clearing of all review items. 
  • Assist Operation Engineers (OE’s) with all F-18 FLE adjustments.  
  • Provide a daily update of aircraft status and configuration and record all inspections and changes in Inventory and asset configuration 
  • Identify and record work requests (WR) that require logbook entries. 
  • Identify Near due components/inspections and issue any associated work requests 
  • Review, print, and file FPRs (Flight Preparedness Report) for assigned aircraft 
  • Assist flight crews with maintenance documentation and required paperwork (NAVFLIRS) 
  • Monitor, verify and log aircraft inventory records and technical directive (TDs) for documentation in aircraft logs and records and history files 
  • Responsible for preparing and directing various meeting such as maintenance status, maintenance directive implementation.
  • Serve at the Central Technical Publications Library (CTPL) by managing, distributing, and maintaining technical manuals, engineering publications, technical orders, maintenance directives, and digital and physical technical libraries.

Physical Demands: 
This maintenance classification activity is usually accomplished in a flight line-like or hangar environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking demands.  May require lifting of objects whose weight will not normally exceed 50lbs. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close and peripheral vision and acceptable depth perception and color differentiation. 

Work Environment: 
The diversity of working conditions ranges from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc.  May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles and electrical shock hazards exist.   

The pay rate for this role is $39.09 per hour

Qualifications:  

  • Computer literate and functional in Office Suite 
  • Must always demonstrate reliability and professionalism.  
  • Must have an expert knowledge of all required duties. Must have the ability and knowledge to step in and complete any of the task above without any assistance.  
  • Detailed understanding of all Operational Procedures required forms, and where to find them. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in military or NASA electronic maintenance record systems  
  • Experience with automated maintenance record systems: NALCOMIS, OOMA, CMP, IETMS and NAMIS - highly desired.   
  • U.S. Navy or U.S. Air Force maintenance administration course graduate - required  

Requirements: 

  • U.S. Citizenship and Valid U.S. Passport  
  • Valid State Driver’s License  
  • High School Diploma or GED  
  • Ability to travel  
  • U.S. Secret Clearance: required. (Active Current a plus)
