Senior Production Supervisor - MP&L (Nights)

The Senior Production Supervisor position is a supervisory leadership role supported by on-the-job training, development, and opportunity for career progression. Production Supervisors are:

What you'll do...
- Coach and mentor frontline salary/hourly team members to build capability and drive performance
- Manage skills matrix, including certifications and license renewals (forklift, crane, hazmat)
- Ensure consistent shift handoff communication across all shifts and crews
- Resolve conflicts and manage team morale within a union/UAW environment
- Set clear expectations and KPIs for attendance, quality, cost and safety
- Recognize and reinforce good performance, not just correct poor performance
- Demonstrate One Ford leadership behaviors through strong interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
- Manage labor costs, including overtime scheduling and control, headcount-to-volume ratios
- Control inventory/WIP, monitor dock-to-dock time, and reduce reliance on premium freight
- Apply lean tools including 5S, standardized work, value stream mapping, and waste elimination
- Optimize equipment manpower utilization in running lean and opportunities to reduce RTO.
- Apply Ford Production System (FPS) or equivalent lean production system principles
- Apply OSHA/Ford safety standards, including forklift safety, pedestrian/vehicle separation
- Lead incident investigations and root cause corrective action (RCCA)
- Proactively identify hazards through near-miss reporting, safety audits, and Gemba Walks
- Lead safety talks and reinforce PPE and all Vehicle Safety Procedure compliance
- Apply root cause problem-solving methods (5-Why, fishbone/Ishikawa)
- Use data-driven decision making, including metrics tracking, trend analysis, and dashboards
You'll have...
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2–3 years of experience as a MP&L supervisor
- Ability to work the night shift, as well as weekends and rotating shifts as needed
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Capable of assigning work to a unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes related to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to multi-task effectively
- Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit One Ford leadership behaviors, combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

This position is a salary grade 6-7 - from $72,480 -$141,360
