What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.
Job Summary
The Senior Coordinator Transportation works in inbound, midshift, and outbound warehouse operations and is responsible for the management of all orders via the order warehouse management system, email and telephone. This job prioritizes orders based on customer demands and collaborates with the dispatch team to determine optimal transport methods (private fleet, courier, etc.). The Senior Coordinator Transportation clusters orders and strategically issues them to the warehouse for picking/packing in an effort to effectively manage capacity. This role collaborates cross functionally with sales representatives and marketing to meet the needs of the customer and maintain customer satisfaction and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Manages and prioritizes all customer orders, including emergency orders in the system including warehouse management system, email and telephone orders.
Releases the line on the floor, sets up special order operations and sends orders to warehouse for picking and packing.
Selects appropriate carrier/transportation method to meet customer needs.
Collaborate closely with the transportation and corporate contacts and attend calls regarding the operations.
Collaborates with customer care to fulfill rush orders and mitigate backorders.
Maintains a pre-determined list of third-party logistics providers and transportation parties.
Works with carriers to maintain advantageous pricing agreements.
Qualifications
Basic proficiency in English is required, including being able to read and write in English in order to process documents.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
Ability to sit for 8 hours or more, to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for an entire 8 hour or longer shift.
Must be able to work overtime.
Comfortable working at heights of 25-30 feet regularly.
Strong computer and customer service skills.
3-6 years of experience, preferred.
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred.
AIMS/ECC knowledge is a plus.

Anticipated Hourly Range: $20.10 per hour - $29.48 per hour
