Job Summary
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for pre-engineered
metal building projects. This role works closely with the sales team, vendors,
engineers, and contractors to ensure all project requirements are clearly understood and
properly priced. The Estimator plays a key role in supporting successful project bids from
initial review through final quotation and change management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to accurately price metal building projects
- Utilize Metal Building Software (MBS) to design, configure, and price pre-engineered metal building systems
- Prepare detailed and timely quotations for metal building projects, including materials and applicable accessories
- Assist sales personnel by researching bidder lists, tracking bid results, and providing estimating support as needed
- Obtain special pricing for panels, accessories, insulation, snow guards, and other
- project-specific components
- Review drawings and specifications for discrepancies or conflicts and seek clarification from architects, engineers, or contractors as necessary
- Collaborate with the sales team to address scope changes, resolve pricing issues, and process change orders
- Maintain organized records of estimates, quotes, and project documentation
- Ensure estimates comply with company standards, project requirements, and applicable codes
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Work Environment
- Office-based position with routine use of computers and estimating software
- Occasional interaction with construction professionals and vendors via phone or email

Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience in the pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) industry is preferred, but not required
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience
- Associate degree or higher in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field; and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in estimating or a related construction role
