AI Architect

AI Architect role.

We're looking for a hands-on architect who understands what it takes to bring AI into a company successfully, safely, at scale and at speed. In short: you help us move fast without breaking things. You own the build-and-validate phase; a separate team takes proven PoCs to production. Ideal for a solutions architect who's as comfortable coding a prototype as shaping architecture decisions and bringing stakeholders along.

What you'll do:

• Build PoCs with the team, then take the proven ones to production or write the spec for the team that will run them.
• Solve real problems, finding the pain points, design the fix, ship it and prove the value.
• Design for scale where every PoC fits our wider IT landscape and Enterprise Architecture.
• Own the architecture that lets AutoStore build AI solutions safely across the company.
• Work with the IT teams already building our foundations (data, integration, security, authentication and hosting). You define what AI needs from them and build on top of what they deliver.
• Bring people along by explaining choices and trade-offs in plain language, to developers and business leaders alike.

Who you are:

• An experienced builder with full-stack developer background.
• As comfortable writing code for a prototype as you are making architecture decisions.
• You know how data, integration, security and hosting fit together in a large organization.
• Nice to have: experience with Azure, Databricks, or taking AI solutions into production.

You'll join a small, empowered team with one task: figure out how to get the most out of AI in what we think is Norway's coolest tech company. (TIME named our robots one of the Best Inventions of 2025, so we're not the only ones who think so.)

AutoStore already builds AI into its products. Now we want to put it to work across the whole company. There is no finished map for this, so we will make the path by walking it. We prototype fast, work closely with the business, and build together with the rest of our exceptional IT team. You'll sit close to the people who do the work, find where AI makes the biggest difference, and build the solutions that prove it. We measure success in business value, not in slides.

• Think big, start small, move fast. An idea should become a working prototype in weeks, not months.
• Build, test, kill, build again. We kill our darlings early, so the best ideas get our time.
• Built to grow. We build on our Azure Databricks data platform and follow our IT and enterprise architecture, so what works can scale.
• Proven ideas move on. When a prototype proves its value, we take it to production or hand it over to the team that will run it. Then we pick the next problem.
• Share what we learn. What we learn at the bleeding edge, we share with the rest of AutoStore as we scale up.

Location: Oslo, Stavanger, or Nedre Vats.
