Roseville Care Center is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our nursing team on a part-time basis. If you enjoy making a difference in the lives of residents and want a flexible schedule with a supportive team, we would love to hear from you!

Position Overview

The primary purpose of the CNA position is to provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with each resident’s assessment and care plan and under the direction of the supervising nurse.

Our CNAs play an important role in providing compassionate, respectful, and quality care while helping residents maintain their dignity, comfort, independence, and quality of life.

What You'll Do

• Provide routine nursing care and personal care to residents according to their individual care plans.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, undressing, oral care, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Assist with lifting, turning, repositioning, transferring, and transporting residents using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Answer resident call lights promptly and routinely check residents to ensure their needs are being met.
• Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respirations, as directed.
• Measure and record resident weights and other required information.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions, eating habits, skin condition, behavior, or overall well-being to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Observe and report pressure areas, skin breakdown, skin tears, and injuries of unknown origin.
• Assist residents with meals and accurately record food and fluid intake.
• Provide appropriate after-meal care and maintain clean, fresh water within residents' reach.
• Assist residents in preparing for medical appointments, laboratory tests, therapy, dental appointments, and other procedures.
• Assist with restorative and rehabilitative activities as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents.
• Assist with admissions, room changes, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Assist with transporting residents to and from vehicles and other areas of the facility.
• Follow established infection-control, bloodborne pathogen, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Report accidents, incidents, suspected abuse, neglect, injuries, missing residents, and other concerns immediately according to facility policy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of resident information and protected health information (PHI).
• Respect residents' rights, choices, privacy, dignity, and refusals of treatment.
• Participate in nursing reports and communicate effectively with nursing staff and other departments.
• Complete documentation accurately, timely, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Use only equipment and perform only procedures for which you have been properly trained.
• Report defective equipment and safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Work cooperatively with nurses, CNAs, residents, families, and other members of the care team.
• Follow assigned schedules and work assignments and notify the facility appropriately regarding absences or tardiness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification/license.
• Minimum of a 10th-grade education.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, supervisors, and coworkers.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to provide compassionate and respectful resident care.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and facility privacy requirements.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred:

• Current CPR certification.
• Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, sit, talk, hear, and assist residents with transfers, repositioning, and activities of daily living.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may be required to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.

Work Environment

The CNA works in a skilled nursing and long-term care environment. The noise level is generally low to moderate, although conditions may vary depending on resident care needs and facility activities.
