As an Anti-Fraud Specialist at OCBC, you will play a critical role in protecting our customers and the bank from financial crimes. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to preventing and detecting fraudulent transactions and potential victims. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to stay up-to-date with the latest fraud/scam development and anti-money laundering regulations and trends. You will need to analyze complex data and identify potential fraud risks, and work closely with other teams to implement effective controls. You will also need to communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide training to colleagues on anti-fraud measures and controls.


What You Will Be Doing:

Projects, Systems & Process Enhancement

  • Coordinate with business, operations, technology, and Group stakeholders on fraud-related projects and system enhancements.
  • Manage the implementation, maintenance, tuning, and optimization of fraud monitoring systems, analytics tools, and fraud detection solutions.
  • Manage and conduct in UAT, requirement gathering, scenario design, and deployment of fraud technology initiatives.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to strengthen fraud controls and improve operational efficiency based on the latest regulator and law enforcement agency’s expectations / initiatives, as well as fraud trend and typologies.

    Fraud Surveillance & Analytics
  • Perform fraud surveillance, data analytics, and scenario effectiveness reviews to identify fraud trends, control gaps, and emerging risks.
  • Analyse fraud patterns and recommend enhancements to existing detection rules, monitoring scenarios, and fraud controls.
  • Monitor fraud risk indicators and develop management information ("MI") and dashboards for management reporting.

Fraud Investigation & Incident Management

  • Conduct fraud investigations, including account takeover, identity fraud, mule account, payment fraud, cyber-enabled fraud, deepfake-related fraud, and other emerging fraud typologies.
  • Prepare investigation reports and suspicious transaction reports ("STRs") and provide guidance on case handling and escalation.
  • Support fraud incident response activities and coordinate with internal stakeholders and law enforcement agencies where required.
  • Participate in customer impact assessment and fraud loss mitigation efforts.

Fraud Risk Management & Governance

  • Assist in maintaining the Bank's Anti-Fraud Framework, including policies, procedures, standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct fraud risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities across products, channels, processes, and customer journeys.
  • Support the implementation of regulatory requirements, Group initiatives, and industry best practices relating to fraud risk management.
  • Participate in fraud-related governance forums and working groups.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Business Units, Operations, Compliance,  Technology, Group & external parties on fraud prevention initiatives.
  • Support engagement with regulators, law enforcement agencies, industry working groups, and banking associations as required.
  • Co-locate at the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) when required to facilitate urgent scam intervention and stop-payment coordination.

Reporting & Training

  • Prepare fraud trend analysis, management reports, regulatory submissions, and ad hoc presentations for senior management.
  • Support audit, regulatory review, and independent validation exercises.
  • Conduct fraud awareness training and share emerging fraud typologies and lessons learned with relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


What We Are Looking For:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as law, finance, or accounting
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in fraud investigation or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Fraud related/anti-money laundering regulations and trends
  • Professional certifications, such as CAMS or CFE, are an advantage
