Job Description:

World Vision Mongolia is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Project Coordinator for the Rapid Interventions through Shared Engagement (RISE) Grant Project funded by the World Vision US Rise Fund. This recruitment is being conducted under a pre-award condition.

Contract Duration: This is a fixed-term assignment expected to run for 12 months, tentatively from 10 August 2026 to 31 July 2027, subject to project approval.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for implementing of the Rapid Interventions through Shared Engagement (RISE) Grant Project, which is anticipated project, to ensure coordination across project team and meet the achievement of project objectives, quality standards, grant compliance, and sustainable impact. The position serves as the primary focal point for project planning, implementation, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and coordination with government and community partners.

The role will promote community resilience, child-focused disaster risk management, emergency preparedness, climate adaptation initiatives, and local capacity strengthening while ensuring effective stewardship of project resources and adherence to World Vision and donor requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Project planning and management (60%)

  • Provide technical oversight and supportive supervision to field teams to ensure quality implementation and compliance.
  • Serve as the technical focal point for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Anticipatory Action (AA), community preparedness and resilience-building interventions under the RISE project.
  • Lead the development of annual, quarterly, and monthly operational plans, integrating logical framework targets, key performance indicators (KPIs), implementation timelines, risk mitigation measures, and approved budget allocations.
  • Coordinate Community Participatory Disaster Risk Assessments (CPDRA) and support communities in developing and updating disaster preparedness and action plans.
  • Facilitate and strengthen the capacity of communities, schools, government counterparts, and local partners through training and technical support on:
    • Anticipatory Action (AA)
    • Be Ready Training Module
    • Community Participatory Disaster Risk Assessments (CPDRA)
    • Comprehensive School Safety Framework
    • Junior Rescuer Club
  • Lead the activation of Anticipatory Action and its implementation, in compliance with national and international humanitarian standards, principles, and response protocols.
  • Coordinate technical specifications, procurement planning, logistical arrangements, delivery, and distribution of project assets, equipment, and training materials for establishment and operationalization of resilient community learning and training centers.
  • Mainstream Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Safeguarding, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), and Protection principles throughout project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with World Vision policies, safeguarding standards, donor requirements, financial regulations, and project management procedures.

Project monitoring and reporting (20%)

  • Monitor trigger threshold - Monitor dzud trigger thresholds, analyze early warning information and prepare activation recommendations for anticipatory action response
  • Establish and oversee robust monitoring systems to ensure timely collection, validation, analysis, and management of high-quality project performance data across all implementation locations.
  • Lead Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM), rapid assessments, GEDSI analyses, market assessments, outcome monitoring, and end-line evaluations.
  • Develop, strengthen, and maintain community-based accountability and feedback mechanisms to support transparency, responsiveness, and adaptive project management.
  • Produce and contribute to high-quality weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual technical and donor reports, ensuring data accuracy and evidence-based reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with donor branding, visibility, communication, knowledge management, and reporting requirements across all project interventions.

Partnership, advocacy and sustainability (15%)

  • Establish and strengthen strategic collaboration mechanisms among local government authorities, communities, schools, humanitarian actors, and service providers to enhance project effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to field teams in stakeholder engagement, partnership management, coordination, and accountability processes.
  • Promote institutionalization and local ownership of DRR, AA, and resilience interventions through engagement with government structures, schools, and community platforms.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices and evidence of impact to support organizational learning, reporting and future project design.

General (5%)

  • Contribute to the achievement of World Vision Mongolia's strategic objectives, mission, vision, and organizational priorities.
  • Participate in organizational, spiritual, and team development initiatives, including weekly devotions and staff engagement activities.
  • Promote awareness, prevention, safeguarding, and reporting mechanisms related to child protection and safeguarding across all project interventions.
  • Undertake field travel and deployment as required to support project implementation, monitoring, coordination, and emergency response activities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and consistently meet competing deadlines in dynamic operational environments.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification:

Bachelor's degree in:

  • Disaster Risk Management
  • Climate Change Adaptation
  • Environmental Science/ Natural Resource Management
  • Development Studies
  • Project Management
  • Social Sciences

Master's degree preferred.

Required Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible project management experience.
  • At least 3 years managing humanitarian, DRR, resilience, emergency response or climate adaptation projects.
  • Experience implementing institutional donor-funded grants.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with government agencies and humanitarian actors.
  • Experience managing budgets, procurement, and donor reporting.
  • Experience working in fields.

Required Language(s): Intermediate or Upper-Intermediate in English

Position’s physical requirements:

  • Ability to travel frequently (approximately 30–40% of working time) to project locations, including remote and disaster-prone areas of Mongolia.
  • Ability to visit communities during challenging weather conditions, including extreme cold, snowstorms (dzud), floods, and wildfire-affected areas when safety conditions permit.
  • Ability to work extended hours during emergency response activations and rapid response operations.
  • Physically and mentally capable of working in a fast-paced humanitarian environment and under emergency conditions.

  • Committed to high standards of accuracy and consistency
  • Knowledge and experience on database management, electronic data collection methods and virtual communication platforms.
  • Time management and organizational skills in ensuring outputs of cross-functional teams.
