About the MSD Division
The Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) Electron Microscopy (EM) business enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries and ultimately change the world. The MSD EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflow solutions that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.
As Supervisor Field Service your key responsibilities are:
- Line management of an assigned team of highly skilled and specialized Field Service Engineers (FSE)
- Performance management and development of the assigned FSE team
- Internal team communication
- Leading and facilitating regular team meetings
- Regular coordination with the sales and service team
- Efficient staff scheduling
- Review FSE support requests together with the 2nd line support
- Escalation management
- Participation in customer meetings
- Handle customer critical communication together with service manager
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed
- Coordination of technical and non-technical training
- Support of the regional service manager
- installation planning and preparation, working with Regional Installation Project Manager (RIPM) and regional experts
- take on field service activities typically 50% of normal working hours depending on the team size
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechatronics, electronics/engineering, or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
- Experience with TEM and/or SEM/SDB and/or XPS products is a plus
- Experience with managing a team of Field Service Engineers is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing high-tech systems.
- Technical competence corresponding to an engineer II level or higher, Electron Microscopy preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English, German or French on B2 level or above are preferred
- Highly organized and in control of administrative tasks
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Negotiation skills and commercial mindset
