In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the stability, security, performance, and resilience of the technology platforms that power payment experiences for businesses and consumers around the world. Your expertise will help maintain highly available systems, strengthen operational excellence, and drive continuous improvements that enable Global Payments to deliver secure, reliable, and innovative payment solutions at scale. What you'll own
Drive the reliability, security, and performance of Unix-based environments, ensuring critical payment systems remain available, resilient, and aligned with business and client expectations.
Deliver infrastructure improvements that enhance operational efficiency, leveraging automation, monitoring, and performance insights to reduce risk, improve scalability, and strengthen service delivery outcomes.
Influence system stability and business continuity outcomes by identifying potential issues early, implementing proactive solutions, and supporting disaster recovery readiness across key platforms.
Champion secure infrastructure practices and compliance standards, helping protect critical systems and data while maintaining alignment with Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements and operational policies.
Partner across teams to solve complex technology challenges, enabling faster resolution of issues, improved user experiences, and better business outcomes through collaboration and technical expertise.
What you'll bring
Proven experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, with a strong understanding of system performance, security, patching, and availability management.
Ability to analyze and resolve infrastructure issues, applying sound judgment to deliver effective solutions in fast-paced production environments.
Experience supporting enterprise systems while balancing operational excellence, risk management, and business priorities.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
It's a bonus if you have
Experience administering IBM AIX or Oracle Solaris environments within large-scale enterprise infrastructures.
Industry certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), IBM AIX Certified Administrator, or Solaris Certified Administrator.
Demonstrated success implementing automation, orchestration, or infrastructure optimization initiatives that improve operational performance and scalability.
