Responsibilities

Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

 

Job Specific Tasks/Responsibilities:

The contractor employee responsibilities shall include providing statistical support for the FESS Operational Consultation and Analytics Service to assist with overall consultation, research and studies and analysis requirements, to include technical consultation support, data analytics and data management requirements support, and interfacing with personnel and subject matter experts from the 711th Human Performance Wing, as well as DoD professionals from multiple organizations as required, to provide research and data analytic support.

The contractor employee shall apply statistical modeling and advanced analytical techniques to the data, in order to investigate AFMS-identified gaps as requested.

The contractor employee shall assist researchers and outside collaborators with data-related issues and statistical questions.

The contractor employee shall import, clean, merge, manage, transform, validate, and/or analyze large multivariate datasets.

The contractor employee shall test data to identify data integrity issues, making recommendations and coordinating with the team and team lead to plan solutions; troubleshoot problems concerning database records and analysis, and communicate with team lead/team members; evaluate/recommend improvements for existing data management and recommend requirements for new systems.

The contractor employee shall design and document data management processes and develop data dictionaries as necessary; establish the relationship of available data to existing datasets, map data and coding for specific data elements, maintain statistical software codes; provide training on products created as needed; perform data archive procedures within established guidelines as provided by the team lead.

The contractor employee shall provide consultation support for 711 HPW and DoD researchers, providing study design assistance, analysis advice, and document review.

The contractor employee shall utilize descriptive statistics to summarize data.

The contractor employee shall summarize and report data analyses in a clear, concise manner; present results to stakeholders and/or at scientific conferences; create written communication for internal and external purposes; write-up results in technical reports or publication-quality manuscripts.

The contractor employee shall participate in data-driven projects; provide assistance with FHS Data Analytics team requirements such as producing timely and accurate data, analysis and reports in response to ad hoc/special requests.

The contractor employee shall ensure all documents and datasets are appropriately vetted prior to release outside the organization.

The contractor employee shall work with FESS PM responsible for tracking documents and analytics team: to ensure IRB compliance with human subjects research regulations are met; to draft IRB protocols and other documentation as needed; to write Data Use Agreements and/or Memoranda of Agreement with data sources.

The contractor employee shall maintain data security in strict compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and related federal regulations.

The contractor employee shall work with Information Technology (IT) support personnel to ensure compliance with USAF and DoD IT requirements.

The contractor employee shall utilize with proficiency statistical/database software packages such as SAS, SPSS, Access, and SQL Server as well as standard software packages such as Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat in performance of duties.

The contractor employee shall maintain professional relationships with government lead(s), team members, investigators, and collaborators.

The contractor employee shall assist in the statistical/experimental design technical review of proposals submitted to USAFSAM/FESS, as required.

The contractor employee shall attend/support meetings, as required in performance of duties, with government and civilian organizations, academia, and subject matter experts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field. Advanced analytical and statistical skills, and have 2-5 years’ experience combining, cleaning, and analyzing large multivariate datasets.

Must have, or be able to obtain, a NACLC or T3 clearance, with an IT designation level II. Possess excellent technical writing and presentation skills, as well as experience providing statistical consultation and/or instruction.

Ability to thrive in a team environment, yet be able to complete assigned tasks independently or with minimal guidance from the government lead(s). Professional, detail oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and speak English fluently. 

 

Desired Qualifications:

PhD or equivalent is desired.

Experience working with medical and occupational data are desired.
