Join our Asia Pacific Ocean Operations team as a Hub Marine Planner and help ensure safe, reliable and efficient vessel operations across two of Maersk’s key hubs: Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore.
Based in Tanjung Pelepas, Johor, you will coordinate berth line-ups, port stays and operational stakeholders to keep vessels moving according to plan.
We offer
At Maersk, we believe in diversity, collaboration and continuous learning. You will join an international operations team, gain exposure to two major regional hubs and have opportunities to build your skills while contributing to the future of global trade and logistics.
Key responsibilities
Manage and optimise berth line-ups for Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore, supporting vessel arrivals and departures according to schedule.
Own the port-stay plan and coordinate with terminals, agents, vessels and husbandry teams to execute all activities safely and efficiently.
Maintain timely ETA and schedule updates for owned, vessel-sharing agreement and feeder vessels, minimising waiting and idling time.
Monitor terminal productivity, port performance and vessel turnaround, following up on deviations and improvement opportunities.
Support the successful execution of critical cargo connections.
Act as the first point of contact for regional contingencies and incidents at sea or in port, managing communication and escalation in line with procedures.
Build effective working relationships with internal execution teams, ship management, terminals, vessel command and third-party service providers.
Identify and support process improvements, including opportunities to reduce bunker consumption.
Ensure vessel arrival and departure information is updated promptly and accurately in PCM.
Work according to the rotating shift roster and provide back-up support to the Berth Manager when required.
This position is open to candidates currently based in Malaysia and authorised to work in Malaysia. Relocation support is not available for this role.
We’re looking for
Around three years of experience in shipping, terminal operations or a related operational environment.
Strong Excel skills; experience with Power BI is an advantage.
Able to work independently, make sound decisions and take ownership of operational outcomes.
Good judgement, with the ability to balance safety, cost and network stability.
Able to prioritise effectively and remain composed when handling multiple operational situations.
Clear communicator who can collaborate with and influence stakeholders across functions and geographies.
Collaborative team player with a continuous-improvement mindset.
Willing and able to work rotating shifts.
