Mastercard is seeking talented individuals to join our Cardholder Services, Global Benefits team in Pune, India.
Mastercard is developing next-generation products and services that enable cardholders to securely, efficiently, and intelligently access and use benefits across multiple digital channels.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, delivery, and support of software solutions. You will define requirements, develop and customize applications, drive automation initiatives, and ensure adherence to Mastercard standards, processes, and best practices.
Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions. In addition, you will take ownership of critical initiatives, drive the team's automation strategy, build and enhance automation frameworks, mentor engineers, participate in code reviews, PoCs, and technical evaluations, and continuously improve quality, efficiency, and engineering practices.
Skills/Requirements
• Strong hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and Web Services
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, and API Automation
• Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks and automation strategies
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and SDLC
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, code reviews, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Ability to take ownership, drive initiatives independently, and deliver results
• Experience troubleshooting production issues, root-cause analysis, and production support
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
• High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and continuous learning mindset
In addition, the following is also highly desirable:
• Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• Microservices architecture
• Cloud-native application development
• Performance and security testing
• Payments, Benefits, or FinTech domain experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
