Location: Gastonia, NC, with regular travel to Bessemer City, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Position Summary
Pacor, Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment at our Gastonia and Bessemer City facilities. This position is primarily based in Gastonia but will work at the Bessemer City facility regularly each week.
The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment problems, complete repairs, and assist with basic building and plant maintenance. The successful candidate must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery, motors, pneumatic equipment, and related systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and industrial electrical problems using equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, and testing instruments.
- Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace defective machine parts and control components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, levels, and other measuring instruments.
- Safely dismantle and reassemble machinery when completing repairs.
- Fabricate or modify repair parts when needed.
- Help reduce equipment downtime by identifying problems and completing timely repairs.
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
- Notify the supervisor or purchasing when replacement parts or supplies are needed.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance and repair records.
- Perform basic building and plant maintenance, including painting and minor restroom and facility repairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company safety procedures.
- Assist with other maintenance-related duties as needed.
Equipment includes saws, sealers, Lectra automatic cutting equipment, Pathfinder CNC equipment, Hydraulic presses, and other production machinery.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least three years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical maintenance, HVAC, or a similar field.
- Experience with mechanical systems, industrial electrical systems, pneumatic systems, and basic HVAC or building systems.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, and specifications.
- Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing maintenance needs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Bend, kneel, climb, and work in different positions while servicing equipment.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Work safely from ladders or approved lifts.
