Overview

Join our Life Science operations team and play a key role in the movement of critical healthcare shipments. As a Life Science Specialist, you will coordinate international import and export, ensuring customer orders are delivered quickly and efficiently through road and courier services to meet urgent patient demands.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to qualify their shipping requirements and obtain all details (regulations, certificates, documentation) necessary for shipment quotation and operating to ensure the customer’s request is satisfied;
  • Coordinate the day-to-day import and/or export of products, including reviewing orders and documents;
  • Track and communicate all delays, damages, problems and work to resolve customer issues;
  • Responsible for all aspects of (international) operations such as customer service, data entry of shipments, operations and billing;
  • Manage all aspects of tracking shipments to ensure shipments are moving as scheduled and update system immediately upon verification. Identify and rectify if a shipment has deviated from its schedule;
  • Ensure all customers’ SOP instructions are adhered to and AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met;
  • Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines;
  • Process and comply with all requirements listed by regulatory agencies;
  • Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience of 2+ years in international operations and freight forwarding;
  • Dangerous Goods work experience or knowledge is preferred;
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously in the work setting;

  • Customer service focus – we serve a wide variety of customers, both internal and external, and building relationships is a part of our culture;
  • Resolves non-routine problems;
  • Must be able to perform in a fast pace / high volume work environment;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Problem solving;
  • Fluent oral and written English is a must;
  • Fluency in Dutch would be an asset;
  • Strong PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office applications) preferred;
  • Experience with CargoWise computer system is helpful.
