Our approach to risk management supports entrepreneurialism, technical and digital innovation and change, as well as promoting continuous learning and advancement in risk management expertise.

As an associate in the team, you’ll help provide second line of defence oversight, review and challenge of Traded Market risk activities. You’ll identify, review and challenge Market Risk to ensure that all risk categories are managed in accordance with approved risk limits and risk appetite.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Capturing, analysing, monitoring and controlling Traded Market Risks (TMR)

  • Identifying Market Risks and ensuring that the risks are properly managed and mitigated

  • Review and challenge desk risk positions, trading strategies and limit breaches

  • Investigate drivers of P&L and risk moves

  • Support the escalation and remediation of limit excesses

  • Partner with Front Office to understand products, strategies and risk factors

  • Collaborating with the Risk and P&L reporting teams based in Madrid

  • Developing and providing TMR risk dashboards, aggregate risk reports, and other related reporting to executive management, committees, and regulators.

  • Representing TMR as well as creating and gathering materials for local, group, regulatory and any other periodic fora ensuring timely and accurate production

The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this role.

  • Experience in Market Risk, Trading Risk, Risk Control or related Front Office or Risk function

  • Knowledge of trading products including Interest Rates, Structured Credit, FX, Securities Financing and XVA

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent, in a relevant subject such as Engineering, Economics, Science or Mathematics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Well-developed analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Strong judgement, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Excellent coding skills particularly in Python

  • Relevant professional qualification such as CFA or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Counterparty Credit Risk concepts (CCR)

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.
